Lead Engineer, C&I bias – Lognes, France

Honeywell Industrial Automation (IA) is part of Honeywell focused on industrial automation technologies to optimize process industries. The facility in Lognes, France offers end‑to‑end project management from concept engineering through commissioning.

The Project Lead Engineer is responsible for engineering jobs awarded to the company and for providing support and tasking direction to discipline engineers, sourcing subcontractors to ensure deliveries that comply with contractual specifications, codes and standards. The Lead Engineer manages the technical workforce, ensures compliance with applicable codes, QMS, and a Safety‑First culture, and drives on‑time delivery, first‑time‑right and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Leading technical project execution through design & engineering, prototype, industrialisation, and commissioning phases.

Ensuring customer satisfaction, cycle time improvement, safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost optimisation while meeting project specifications.

• Serve as technical interface to customers; establish professional relationships; conduct progressive project review meetings.
• Lead the technical part of projects in bidding and execution stages, ensuring prerequisites (design inputs, tools, documentation, schedule, and budget); influence conceptual design for basic engineering.
• Produce or review project specific deliverables: basic & detailed design, calculations, P&ID, instrumentation, panel design, wiring diagrams, manufacturing specifications, inspection & test plans, equipment data sheets, bill of materials, FAT & SAT procedures.
• Support FAT, commissioning, start‑up and customer training.
• Troubleshoot, implement technical improvements, coordinate variations and changes during industrial phase.
• Drive continuous improvement of best engineering practices and lessons learnt.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronic or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in process control industry with similar role.
• Strong knowledge in flow measurement instruments (flow meters, PT, TT, FC, GC, PLC, SCADA, AGA, ISO).
• In‑depth knowledge of gas flow measurement and regulation.
• Knowledge of French codes and standards; familiarity with GrdF is preferred.
• Experience with GrdF and HAZOP studies.
• Successful leadership and ability to analyze complex problems.
• Solution‑oriented, self‑motivated, multitasking, timeline‑driven.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; fluent French & English.
