Business Segment Lead
At Alan, we split the French market into several business segments, each corresponding to a category of clients (by size or industry). The Business Segment Lead is responsible for reaching market leadership in the assigned segment. The role requires articulating a vision, defining priorities and resources, and making strategic decisions based on market insights.
Main missions
- Market intelligence: build expertise on the market and competitive landscape, both quantitative (sizing) and qualitative (customer pain points and needs).
- Value proposition and pricing: differentiate our offer to become leader in the segment.
- Go‑to‑Market strategy: manage renewal (account) and expansion (business development), adapting distribution channels, sub‑segments, and partners.
- P&L ownership & resources allocation: own ROI of the segment and build internal resources case.
- Product trade‑off: collaborate with product teams to build the best product based on market insights.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of prior experience leading a business (product category, business segment, etc.).
- Full working proficiency in French.
- Advanced level in English.
- Exceptional ability to establish transversal influence.
- Experience analyzing and manipulating data to build a 360° view of the market.
- Strong business sense while being able to go deep into product considerations.
- Able to articulate clear strategies in spite of complexity and uncertainty.
- Prior experience working with senior leadership.
- Generalist self‑starter, able to adapt quickly and not afraid to go to the field.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Brussels, Madrid, or Barcelona.
