Business & Indirect Tax Manager

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for European VAT compliance ensuring timely and accurate filing of VAT returns.
  • Provide advice and support to clients on all Indirect Tax related matters.
  • Proactively advise and support the clients on all indirect taxation consultancy matters.
  • Assist client with VAT audits and compliance checks.
  • Manage the preparation of indirect tax returns.
  • Prepare and perform a first level review of the quarterly VAT tax returns and Annual adjustment.
  • Lead & manage the relationship with tax authorities and partners across Europe in relation to all VAT matters.
  • Keep abreast of changes in Indirect Tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements ensuring the company remains fully compliant at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of all Indirect Tax-related activities, including filings, supporting documents, and correspondence.
  • Ensure process quality and identify areas for process improvement within the VAT compliance framework and work with stakeholders to implement streamlined and efficient procedures.
  • Lead efforts to leverage automation and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in Indirect Tax compliance processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the Software Team to identify and implement software tools and systems that streamline data collection, reporting, and reconciliation for VAT and Sales Tax requirements.
  • Stay up to date with e-invoicing regulations and mandates in France.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of e-invoicing requirements into the company's billing and accounting systems, ensuring compliance with all electronic invoicing standards.
  • Assess potential risks and opportunities related to Indirect Taxes and implement measures to mitigate risks and maximise tax efficiencies.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects related to Indirect Taxation or process improvement.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of AVASK FR operations in collaboration with Head Office.
  • Ensure that the company has adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant and recognised ATT / CTA / Tax Law or Law Degree
  • Proven experience in business and tax or relevant role – minimum 10 years
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Extensive knowledge of VAT and its application
  • Confident and with excellent communication skills for client interaction and engagement
  • Organised and proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Works well in a small team as well as independently
  • Proven track record of experience in supervising, leading and coaching a team
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to identify, network with and manage key stakeholders, building and maintaining effective working relationships.
