Business Development - Pool Channel
Your Responsibilities
We continue to grow and are looking for a Business Development Manager – Pool Channel (m/f/d) to join our Sales team.
Region/Location: France, Spain or Germany
Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager – Pool Channel is responsible for developing ECOVACS’ pool robotics business in the assigned market, with a strong focus on specialist pool channels and long-term partner development.
- Build and grow business with pool retailers, independent pool shops and specialist pool dealers.
- Develop relationships with pool distributors, pool builders, installers and service partners.
This is a hands‑on commercial role combining account management, channel development and new business acquisition. Direct pool‑industry experience is strongly preferred, while candidates from comparable specialist dealer channels with a strong ability to learn pool robotics will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Pool Channel Development & Growth
- Manage and develop an assigned portfolio of pool distributors, specialist retailers, independent pool shops, pool builders, installers and dealer partners.
- Identify, approach and onboard new channel partners to expand regional coverage and build a strong specialist pool network.
- Drive sell‑in and sell‑out through structured partner plans, assortment development and regular field follow‑up.
Partner Enablement
- Train distributor and dealer sales teams on pool robotics, product positioning and value propositions.
- Support product demonstrations, dealer events, seasonal activations and local marketing initiatives.
- Work with partners to strengthen product consultation and after‑sales/service capabilities.
Commercial Execution
- Develop and implement annual sales, distribution and promotional plans for the assigned market.
- Negotiate pricing, promotions and commercial agreements within company guidelines.
- Monitor sales performance, sell‑out, stock levels, distribution coverage and profitability
Market Intelligence & Representation
- Track pool‑market developments, competitor activity, channel structures, seasonal dynamics and trends in pool equipment and robotic pool cleaning.
- Represent ECOVACS at pool‑industry events, dealer meetings, trade fairs and partner activities.
Your profile
Professional Background
- 3–7+ years of experience in sales, key account management or business development, ideally in a specialist pool dealer or pool distributor or pool equipment manufacturer.
- Strong preference for candidates with an established understanding and network in the pool channel, such as:
- Pool retailers and independent pool specialist shops; pool distributors and wholesalers.
- Pool builders, installers, maintenance/service companies, or suppliers of pool equipment and accessories.
- Experience with pool robotics is a strong advantage but not mandatory. Candidates with relevant pool‑channel knowledge and the ability to quickly develop product expertise are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Traits
- Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to develop business with independent dealers, distributors and professional partners.
- Entrepreneurial commercial mindset with strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
- Structured, self‑driven and comfortable spending significant time in the market visiting customers and developing new business.
Languages
- Fluent French, Spanish or German, depending on the assigned market.
- Good English skills required.
