Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Business Development Director for the German Government to join our Global Government team and support growth and revenue. In this role you will work closely with the European defence team including Senior Military Advisors, Government Relations and Account Management, contributing to ongoing projects and initiatives.
Who You Are
A professional Business Development leader with demonstrable skills and relationships with the German Government, Defence and Security Sector, able to hit the ground running with existing contacts.
Ideally, you hold or can obtain a German National Security Clearance and navigate the appropriate Government departments from strategy to procurement.
You work as both a single contributor and as part of a European team with support from existing Senior Military Advisors, Government Relations and Account Management.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and build a solid pipeline of opportunities. Qualify leads and progress them through the sales funnel within CRM.
- Create, manage and own the Government, Defence and Security stakeholder maps for Germany, including Frontline Commands, BAAINBW, Space Command and across the Bundeswehr while considering our distribution partner network.
- Identify capability needs and, with the wider team, build value propositions, white papers and unsolicited proposals to shape requirements with stakeholders.
- Own the event and engagement strategy for Germany, gaining trust through face‑to‑face trials, demos, presentations, and papers.
- Coach internal support teams on user intent and need, providing evidence for competitive analysis, price‑to‑win and offer constructs.
What You’ll Need
- 10+ years as a senior Business Developer in the German Defence sector, preferably within secure communications or satellite service.
- Demonstrated track record of business shaping and creating in the German market with evidence of pipeline growth and revenue translation.
- Strong network within the German Defence ecosystem (Frontline Commands, BAAINBW, Space Command, Bundeswehr and Defence Primes).
- Proven ability to drive complex, high‑value sales processes to closure.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated and security‑sensitive environment.
