BTR is a France-based automotive aftermarket specialist focused on the development of distribution networks and business partnerships for automotive and commercial vehicle parts manufacturers. Mission Summary

The Business Development Director is responsible for leading and developing BTR's commercial activity, including sales, purchasing, supplier relationships, customer development and business development across strategic international markets.

The role has a strong operational dimension and requires close coordination with the sales administration team in Vannes, the sales representative covering Tunisia and Morocco, BTR's suppliers and logistics partners.

A key priority will be to accelerate the development of IAMaga across BTR's historical territories, with a focus on French-speaking Africa and the French overseas territories.

Regular travels are expected within the targeted areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement BTR's commercial development plan in close alignment with the General Manager of BTR.
  • Lead and develop the agent activity, including the identification and selection of new companies, suppliers, product ranges and business opportunities.
  • Manage purchasing activities, supplier negotiations, commercial conditions and product portfolio development.
  • Lead sales activity, set commercial objectives and drive revenue, margin and profitability performance.
  • Manage and support the sales administration team based in Vannes, ensuring effective coordination, customer service and operational follow-up.
  • Manage the sales representative responsible for Tunisia and Morocco and support the continued development of these markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, logistics partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Represent BTR in the field and at relevant industry events, including Automechanika Frankfurt, Solutrans, Equip Auto Paris, IAMaga events and other international events when appropriate.
  • Act as Business Developer for IAMaga across BTR's historical territories, especially French-speaking Africa and the French overseas territories.
  • Prepare monthly business activity updates for the General Manager of BTR, covering performance, key actions, risks, opportunities and next steps.

Required Skills / Experience / Qualification

  • Significant experience in sales, business development or commercial leadership within the automotive aftermarket.
  • Strong knowledge of independent aftermarket distribution models, agent networks, exporters and international trading channels.
  • Proven ability to manage revenue growth, pricing, margin monitoring and profitability objectives.
  • Experience in supplier management, purchasing negotiation and product range development.
  • Good understanding of African, North African or French-speaking international markets.
  • People management experience, including operational teams, sales representatives or local agents.
  • Fluent French and professional English. Additional languages are an advantage.

Desired skills / Experience / Qualification

  • Existing network within the automotive aftermarket, especially in Africa, North Africa or the French overseas territories.
  • Experience with trade shows, supplier events, international partner meetings and market representation.
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial and hands-on environment, combining strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Strong reporting discipline and ability to provide clear, factual and action-oriented business updates to group management.
