The role
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to establish and manage a corporate banking branch in France. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a business from an early stage while operating within a well-structured international organization.
You will be responsible for driving business growth, managing a local team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Build, lead and develop the local corporate banking team
- Execute the commercial strategy and deliver on agreed business targets
- Identify and acquire new corporate clients while expanding existing relationships
- Oversee credit processes and participate in lending decisions within delegated authority
- Manage and grow a high-quality loan portfolio
- Monitor business performance and implement improvements to drive efficiency and results
- Ensure high standards of client service and relationship management
- Control operational costs and ensure effective branch performance
- Ensure compliance with French regulations, internal policies, and audit standards
- Represent the branch in interactions with regulators and external institutions
- Support implementation of risk management and compliance frameworks, including AML
- Strengthen the organization’s market presence and brand visibility in France
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate banking
- At least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within international or multi-market structures
- Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, credit processes, and regulatory environment
- Proven ability to deliver commercial results and drive business growth
- Solid leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in credit risk assessment
- Fluency in French and English (required)
- High level of autonomy, strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel frequently
