Biometric Hardware Product Manager

Purpose
Within the Smart Biometrics Business Unit based in La Défense (Paris), you will contribute to the development of biometric devices used every day by millions of people for border control, bank account opening, and election processes.
Role Overview
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of products from strategy through to market launch, working closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and our customers. You will act as the bridge between market needs and technical teams, driving the development of innovative, high‑value solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer needs, field insights, and market trends to define a clear and differentiated product vision.
- Define the product positioning, value proposition, and roadmap.
- Conduct competitive analysis to support strategic product decisions.
- Work closely with customers and Sales teams to understand market needs, support strategic opportunities (RFPs, product positioning), and drive product decisions accordingly.
- Develop and monitor business plans aligned with growth objectives.
- Define product launch strategies and create sales enablement materials while serving as the product expert for internal teams and partners.
- Define functional and technical requirements (hardware, firmware, software, and SDK).
- Lead product development with R&D, Design, and Operations teams, balancing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
- Manage the product integration ecosystem, including partners, suppliers, and third‑party systems.
- Monitor product performance through product usage, customer feedback, and business results, driving continuous improvement.
- Anticipate product obsolescence and technology transitions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and certifications, including biometric and data protection requirements.
Education
- Engineering degree or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Optics, or a related field.
- A specialization in Product Management, Product Marketing, or Business is a plus.
Skills & Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in B2B Hardware/Software Product Management, ideally within the electronics, optics, or other high‑tech industries.
- Solid understanding of hardware, firmware, and software architectures.
- Proven experience managing products throughout their entire lifecycle, from strategy to market launch and continuous improvement.
- Strong customer focus and experience collaborating closely with Sales teams.
- Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of optical or biometric technologies is a plus.
