Bid Manager (H/F)
Overview
Bid Manager (f/h) – Airbus Defence and Space, Elancourt, France. Role within the Bid Management department, leading activities related to Secure Land Communications (SLC) bids. You will propose innovative, compelling solutions based on Airbus portfolio to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Create responses to bids within deadlines and ensure alignment with client needs and constraints.
- Challenge and coordinate internal teams to submit winning, client-ready offers.
- Ensure Airbus Defence and Space bid processes are applied and followed.
- Maintain bid-related expenditures within the allocated budget.
- Provide sales support, manage project risks, and analyze lessons learned.
- Lead the internal multidisciplinary bid team (program line, portfolio, engineering, finance, sales, procurement, legal, etc.).
- Develop strong technical relationships with the client organization.
- Obtain direct understanding of client needs and participate in client discussions and presentations to articulate the SLC offer positioning and customer value.
- Develop high-level system solutions with qualified professionals; identify client needs and translate them to the portfolio and engineering for solution identification.
- Respond to initial budgetary proposals, RFIs, or similar client requests when needed.
- Collaborate with sales and central teams to create value for clients.
- Travel for business with short notice, as required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge in engineering or business administration.
- Proven experience in responding to bids (at least 5 years).
- Good understanding of information technology and telecommunications technologies.
- Skills and understanding of software sales (e.g., SaaS).
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal) in an international environment.
- Strong leadership abilities, capable of managing on-site and remote teams.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Proactive, persistent, and capable of a "+can-do" mindset.
- Analytical and well-organized; ability to multitask, prioritize, and make critical decisions.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and negotiate in English.
- Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one from recognized authorities.
