Backend Engineer - Growth team (FR)
Responsibilities
As a Backend Engineer inside the Growth squad at WeWard, you will:
Improve & maintain Echo, our communication platform, and improve it to make it our global control center for user communication.
Optimize and A/B test the Step Reminder system, our daily scheduling reminder driving a huge part of our DAUs.
Implement experiments and A/B tests to validate new features drives engagement.
Implement new features to drive Engagement & Retention all over the app.
Take initiative and be capable of leading projects from start to finish.
We’re looking for someone with a strong command of Python , ideally with experience in Flask (though we’re also open to other Python web frameworks such as Django or FastAPI ).
You should be comfortable working on infrastructure at scale, where optimization and performance is the key to handle our millions of users.
You should care as much as possible about code quality while remaining pragmatic about delivering value to users. It’s important to have a clear vision of the ideal architecture we should aim at.
Beyond pure development, we expect you to challenge the architecture , propose meaningful improvements, and collaborate effectively with DevOps, Product, and Marketing .
Qualifications
You’re the perfect match if…
You have 4+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer , with hands‑on exposure to large‑scale, high‑traffic systems and a strong sense of ownership over what you build.
