Backend Developer Internship
Are you passionate about backend development and eager to learn from experienced developers?
Join Karos for a 6-month internship starting between December 2025 and March 2026, where you'll contribute to the growth of our technical platform, supporting the expansion of carpooling into new regions and countries.
Under the guidance of our experienced Web & Data team, you will:
Assist in ensuring a highly reliable carpooling service that remains fast and responsive, even as usage grows.
Contribute to the development of features that enhance the experience for our users and B2B clients, including enterprises and local authorities.
Participate in the improvement of our existing backend codebase, focusing on structure and performance.
You'll work closely with senior backend developers, the Mobile team, and Data Science team, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies while tackling real-world challenges.
In all your work, you'll be encouraged to focus on performance and quality, learning best practices from our team.
What we're looking for in you:
You are in the final year of your Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
You are curious, proactive, and eager to dive into complex systems.
You make smart use of AI tools to enhance your work, improving code quality and learning faster, rather than using them as shortcuts.
You have good experience (through projects, coursework, or previous internships) in backend development and enjoy solving technical challenges.
You are a team player who is motivated to learn and contribute to projects that impact real users.
Hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative startup environment.
The opportunity to learn from and collaborate with senior developers on impactful projects.
Exposure to the full development cycle of a tech product, from ideation to implementation.
A chance to work on meaningful features that directly support sustainable mobility solutions.
Hands-on experience with our complete stack: Python (Django & DRF), MySQL, BigQuery, GCP, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Datadog, Sentry, and Claude Code, while learning how to design, deploy, and monitor real-world backend systems.
