Backend developer go/goland (H/F/NB)

Job Description

As a member of the back‑end team at Synthesio, you will develop and maintain high‑volume data pipelines that ingest and process over 80million documents daily, while supporting a storage capacity of 100billion records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain processing pipelines for 80M documents ingested per day and 100billion in storage.
• Design solutions for squad projects in collaboration with the product owner and cross‑functional developers.
• Develop and implement these projects, defining milestones for implementation and deployment.
• Evolve and maintain the shared tools and libraries used by the back‑end team.

Back‑end Stack

Go, Python, JavaScript, React, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, GitLab, Docker, Ansible.

Example Projects

• Add vector search capabilities.
• Data usage tracking for cost monitoring and tailored billing.
• Implement new crawlers to retrieve documents from diverse sources.
• Revamp the alerting system for increased stability and additional functionalities.
• Custom AI enrichments for clients to further personalize their experience and usage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with complex microservice architectures.
• Knowledge of Go is beneficial but not required.
• Interest in system performance and robustness.
• Previous work with very large data volumes, message queues, and high‑throughput processing.

• Interest in manipulating dozens of microservices in data processing pipelines handling billions of documents.
• Curiosity and passion to discuss design choices.
• Good communicator, self‑starter, and collaborative enthusiast.

• Represent the organization and advocate its technological efforts externally through presentations and publications.
• Interest in multicultural companies; fluent in French and English (written, spoken, and read).
