AXA Health Business- Underwriting Risk Validation and Governance Manager F/H

You join the Underwriting and Proposition Department within AXA Health, as part of the Underwriting Risk Validation & Governance team. You report to the Head of Underwriting Risk Validation and Governance and work closely with multiple stakeholders, including Line 1 underwriters, Line 2 Risk Management teams, actuarial teams and the Underwriting Committee.
Based in France, you act as a key interface between local and international teams, especially with Singapore-based colleagues. You contribute to underwriting activities across several markets including France, UK and Singapore, supporting both direct insurance and reinsurance business.
The purpose of your role is to ensure robust underwriting decisions by performing independent technical validation and supporting governance processes, including the Underwriting Committee.
Responsibilities
Risk validation & pricing
- Perform independent technical reviews and validate pricing for direct insurance and reinsurance risks;
- Assess pricing submissions to ensure consistency with underwriting guidelines and the Portfolio Management Process;
- Review assumptions, methodologies and documentation to ensure robust and justified pricing decisions;
Stakeholder engagement & coordination
- Collaborate with Line 1 underwriters, actuarial teams and Line 2 Risk Management to challenge and validate approaches;
- Act as a key interface between Paris and international teams, especially with Singapore-based stakeholders;
- Provide market insights and regulatory updates across AXA Health markets;
Governance & audit activities
- Define audit frameworks, criteria and timelines for underwriting governance reviews;
- Conduct audits on delegated underwriting authority to ensure compliance with methodologies and referral processes;
- Document findings, define corrective actions and monitor their implementation within agreed timelines;
Underwriting Committee management
- Coordinate submissions and manage processes related to the Underwriting Committee (UWC);
- Ensure quality and completeness of documentation and track pending items and action plans;
- Follow up on the implementation of conditions set by the Underwriting Committee and governance bodies.
Technical skills
- Master health insurance pricing, reinsurance concepts and actuarial methodologies;
- Demonstrate strong experience in risk validation, underwriting processes and governance frameworks (8–10 years expected);
- Work comfortably in a multinational environment with fluency in English and French;

- Communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills across cultures;
- Work autonomously while managing multiple priorities with a high level of rigor and accountability;
Education
A degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or a business-related field is required.
