Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Python
• Participate in solution design and software architecture discussions
• Build scalable, resilient and secure applications deployed on AWS
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects and Infrastructure teams to define technical solutions
• Lead technical design sessions and contribute to architecture roadmaps
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
• Review code, mentor developers and promote engineering best practices
• Ensure solutions are secure, maintainable and aligned with architectural standards
• Contribute throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through to deployment and support

• Strong Python development experience (5+ years)
• Experience building production-grade applications, APIs and microservices
• REST API development
• Unit, integration and automated testing
• Cloud & AWS
• Strong AWS experience
• Experience with services such as:
• Lambda
• ECS/EKS
• API Gateway
• S3
• RDS
• DynamoDB
• IAM
• CloudWatch
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns

Architecture

• Application architecture design
• Microservices architecture
• Event-driven architectures
• System integration patterns
• Non-functional requirements (security, scalability, resilience, performance)

Engineering Practices

• CI/CD pipelines
• DevOps principles
• Infrastructure as Code knowledge (Terraform desirable)

Desired Experience

• Experience designing distributed systems
• Experience working within regulatory or financial services environments
• Previous Technical Lead or Senior Software Engineer experience
• Exposure to Kubernetes and containerisation
• Knowledge of software security best practices
