- Toulouse, France
- Full-time
- As soon as possible
You must have citizenship from a country of the European Union or NATO, excluding the USA, to apply to this position.
Your Mission
You join the systems and hardware team to help size, design and justify SpaceLocker’s interface systems. Most of the work is on electrical interfaces (for power and data), but the team in charge of hardware is tightly integrated: your cross-domain skills help deliver products on time and in the right quality bracket.
In this position, you will be in contact with all SpaceLocker’s technical teams to:
- Design, manufacture and test ground and flight hardware focusing on physical power and data interfaces (boards, harnesses, analog circuits)
- Justify your work, and take part in the writing of technical documentation for requirements derivation
- Work with systems engineers on the evolution of the product line, and support the commercial and operational teams on product customization
- Take part in testing, automation of processes, (re)design for manufacturing, and more !
The plus sides:
- You will work on real space missions with very short design-to-orbit timelines : some of the things you start will be in space next year!
- You will join a fast-moving company, with lots of opportunities for autonomy and professional growth
- You will join a young & dynamic team with autonomy to propose, structure or implement new processes.
For this opportunity, compensation package is around 40k€ before tax, with an additional 10% performance bonus. 5 week paid vacation, hybrid remote work.
Your Profile
This list is not exhaustive nor exclusive. No self-censorship here, if you think your profile fits, even if not ticking all the boxes, feel free to apply and explain to us why in your first email!
- Three to five years’ experience in avionics for the aerospace and defense industry, for example at a large subcontractor, NewSpace satellite manufacturer, or prime defense contractor
- Specific experience with electrical hardware design and testing is a must, familiarity with the manufacturing of avionics equipment (from component to subsystem level) is a strong bonus
- A tech person with a systems mind: your other skills (mechanical engineering, simple embedded software, etc.), and very good technical communication skills bring strength to the integrated team
- Fluent English, basic French is a bonus
- Autonomous and execution-driven: you sketch projects without needing to be guided, then can implement out a simple one on your own
- Rigour in your own work, and appetite for efficient documentation and testing
- Curiosity in the other dimensions of building space things: the team is always training in a new field
About the Company
SpaceLocker aims to make satellite missions more efficient and sustainable.
To achieve this, we develop shared satellite missions or more technically in-orbit payload hosting. This hosting service enables any organization to launch easily and quickly sensors or experiments to harvest space data without having to hassle with the technical satellite and space segment part. On the other side, by sharing higher-end space infrastructure, our customers increase their performances and reduce the environmental impact of their missions both regarding emissions and debris production. Technically, this is made possible thanks to a technological stack combining proprietary hardware and cloud-inspired software into a “space USB for satellites” that enables this revolutionary plug-and-play effect.
We are not trying to build a dog picture blockchain nor a hotel on the Moon, but a rock-solid company that will provide the foundations for the next generation of space exploration. This intention is anchored to a strong technical expertise, a quick prototyping approach and a direct link to the market.
SpaceLocker is a company firmly engaged about diversity and inclusivity, of age, gender, origins, handicap or any other characteristic. Progress and inclusion are not just corporate speech: we are aware it needs actual efforts and compromises and SpaceLocker is proud to be among the only space companies reaching near gender parity.
