Job Description

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an aviation Safety Engineer (f/m) to join our M.E. (Manufacturing Engineering) Technical Authority and Security department, based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team developing the central Safety Management System (SMS) framework across all Production Organisation Approval (POA) areas.

As part of the Safety & Security for Operations team, you will be involved in the early detection, mitigation, and resolution of systemic aviation risks aiming at protecting production activities and fostering an advanced Safety Culture and Speak‑Up mindset. The city of Toulouse is a dynamic capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, close to the Pyrenees mountains.

Your Challenges

  • Manage and resolve SMS cases in strict compliance with the systemic safety production management processes.
  • Support compliance demonstration activities during reviews with internal auditors and the European regulation authority (EASA).
  • Coordinate SMS implementation steps and local action plans throughout manufacturing plants, FALs, and business areas.
  • Drive awareness and communication campaigns regarding aviation safety standards directly tailored for shopfloor teams.
  • Consolidate overall SMS data tracking to generate operational visualisations and reporting structures for Executive Management.

Your Boarding Pass

  • Proven professional experience in Safety Management Systems (SMS) case resolution within an industrial production setup.
  • Strong structural background in manufacturing engineering processes and POA regulatory frameworks.
  • Practical training or operational experience as a Safety Item Manager (SIM) focusing on SARI tracking methodologies.
  • Advanced data management skills with ability to extract and process complex data sets using tools like Skywise, Looker, or Data Studio.
  • Full professional fluency in both French and English (negotiation level) is required; Spanish or German language skills are a plus.
