Optimus Search is supporting a global life sciences manufacturing organisation in Toulouse that is undergoing significant investment and expansion across its production and automation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate automation activities across the manufacturing site
• Manage and support a team of automation technicians and engineers
• Prioritise automation resources between operational support and CAPEX projects
• Support engineering teams with automation design, integration and commissioning activities
• Act as the key automation interface for production, engineering, IT and quality teams
• Ensure automation systems meet operational reliability and compliance requirements
• Coordinate external system integrators and automation suppliers
• Support the implementation of global automation standards and best practices
• Contribute to the planning and execution of automation-related investment projects
• Provide technical guidance on PLC, SCADA and automation architecture decisions

Requirements

• Strong experience in industrial automation within manufacturing or life sciences environments
• Proven experience working with PLC and SCADA systems (ideally Siemens environments)
• Experience managing or coordinating automation teams or technical specialists
• Background supporting automation systems within CAPEX engineering projects
• Understanding of automation integration across production equipment, packaging systems or utilities
• Experience working in regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, biotech or GMP manufacturing
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across engineering, operations and global teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise automation workloads in a dynamic production environment
• Must be fluent in French
