Automation Engineer - WinnCC

The Role

As a Senior Siemens WinCC Engineer, you will be the technical heartbeat of the automation stream. You won’t just be configuring interfaces; you’ll be ensuring the integrity of the process and data visualization in a world-class manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Lifecycle Ownership: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Siemens WinCC SCADA systems (Classic, Professional, or Unified).
• GMP Compliance: Ensure all HMI/SCADA configurations meet rigorous global regulatory standards (CFR 21 Part 11), including detailed documentation and GAMP 5 validation protocols.
• System Architecture: Develop and optimize high-performance graphics, complex scripting (C, VB, or ANSI-C), and advanced alarm management systems.
• Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q): Support onsite startup activities and troubleshooting of PLC-SCADA interfaces (S7-1500/S7-400) through to FAT/SAT.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the technical bridge between process engineering, IT/OT, and external vendors.

What You Bring

• Experience: 10+ years of dedicated experience with Siemens WinCC. You’ve seen it all, from legacy WinCC V7.x to the latest TIA Portal integrated environments.
• Industry Expertise: A proven track record within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology sectors. You understand that in a GMP environment, the audit trail and validation documentation are as critical as the code.
• Full Lifecycle Proficiency: Experience taking a project from User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Design Specifications (FDS) through to final site handover.
• Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of WinCC connectivity (OPC UA, Profinet), SQL database integration, and report generation. Familiarity with Simatic Batch or PCS 7 is a significant plus.
• Location/Language: This is a 100% onsite role in Lyon.
