Your Mission

Dioxycle is seeking a hands‑on Automation & Electrical Engineer to join our hardware team. You'll be working directly on the control systems that operate our electrolyzer stacks – programming PLCs, maintaining wiring and instrumentation, and helping us build a scalable deployment architecture as we grow from 40 systems to many more.

This is a role for someone who loves being close to the hardware, is comfortable picking up new tools quickly, and wants to see the direct impact of their work on real physical systems. You'll have real ownership over a critical part of our systems, at a moment when the team and the fleet are both growing fast. The problems are hard, the impact is direct, and the work is never boring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and maintain PLC‑based control systems (Beckhoff) on our lab and field electrolyzer units, ranging from lab‑scale test units to onsite industrial‑scale pilots.
  • Wire, install and troubleshoot sensors, actuators and electrical panels.
  • Work with our team to configure new systems and contribute to standardizing deployments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate HMI graphics with control logic.
  • Participate in retrofitting legacy systems with new‑generation PLCs.
  • Occasionally interface with existing C‑based code on older systems.

Abilities & Expertise

  • Diploma (e.g. DUT) or degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field – or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience (internships, apprenticeships and personal projects count, but more experience is encouraged).
  • Some exposure to PLC programming (Beckhoff, Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider – any is fine; you'll learn Beckhoff on the job).
  • Comfort with at least one programming language (e.g. Structured Text, Python, C).
  • Understanding of version control (Git) for collaborative code work.
  • Familiarity with electrical panel design and reading wiring diagrams.
  • Hands‑on experience with sensors, actuators and basic electronics troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable using an oscilloscope and basic electronics measurement tools.
  • Bonus : experience with eCAD tools or a background in industrial settings like packaging, robotics, or process control.

Mindset We’re Looking For

  • Exemplary work ethic and self‑driven attitude: you get things done fast and to a high standard and you don’t drop the ball.
  • “Street‑smart”: you don’t take no for an answer and will figure out a way to solve anything with the means available.
  • Commitment to the mission and ambition to create a kind, high‑performance and fun atmosphere at work (100 % on‑site role).
  • Passion for innovation and problem‑solving attitude.
  • Dedication to investing time and effort for the betterment of the team.
  • Going the extra 20 % that makes a good deliverable into an outstanding deliverable.
  • Humble, low‑ego and curious.

What We Have to Offer

  • Unique journey: early‑stage company with a world‑class team and a flat structure.
  • Impact: building a product that will reshape century‑old industrial processes.
  • People‑first: we love our people and look forward to seeing each other every morning at work.
  • Feedback over ego: we are self‑improving while helping others grow.
  • International team: over 17 nationalities and many more to come.
  • Fun: cultivate a great work atmosphere and organize regular team events.
  • Competitive compensation packages.
  • Generous Employee Stock Ownership plans.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Ergonomic workstations and state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
