Associate - Renewable Energy Developer

Overview

We are partnering with a leading European renewable energy developer and investor, focused on the development, financing, construction and operation of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across multiple European markets.

Role

The Structured Finance team in Paris sits within the Investment function and is responsible for structuring investments into renewable energy projects and arranging the associated financing. The Associate will support the execution of financing transactions across multiple jurisdictions and technologies, working closely with internal stakeholders and external financing partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, review and analyse detailed financial models for solar PV and BESS projects.
• Support the structuring of equity investments and project-level capital structures.
• Assist in the execution of senior debt project finance transactions.
• Support holding company financing processes where applicable.
• Coordinate technical, legal, insurance, financial model, market and ESG due diligence processes.
• Review and assist in the negotiation of financing documentation.
• Liaise with lenders, financial advisers and internal development, technical, construction, legal and commercial teams throughout transaction execution.
• Support the delivery of financing processes from initial structuring through to financial close.

Candidate Profile

• 3–6 years of experience in project finance, structured finance or infrastructure investment.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Demonstrable experience executing project finance transactions on either the debt or equity side.
• Exposure to technical, legal, insurance and other due diligence workstreams.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating financing documentation.
• Renewable energy experience, ideally within solar PV and/or battery energy storage (BESS).
• Background in investment banking, project finance advisory, infrastructure advisory, renewable energy investors or a Big Four advisory practice.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of the European project finance lending market.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional European languages, particularly French, are advantageous.
