Cloud Engineer

In this role you will ensure the reliability, security, and readiness of cloud-hosted applications and environments. You'll blend cloud engineering, quality engineering, and DevOps to improve how software is developed, validated, deployed, and operated. You'll partner with developers to automate testing, deployments, and observability, proactively addressing issues before they hit production. This is an opportunity to influence critical cloud services at a major energy provider and help raise operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support cloud environments across development, testing, and production to ensure reliable hosting and operations
• Provision, configure, and troubleshoot cloud resources (compute, storage, connectivity, access)
• Monitor cloud performance, reliability, and infrastructure health
• Automate cloud operations and infrastructure management using IaC and automation
• Design and maintain automated testing for cloud-hosted apps across environments
• Develop and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates
• Implement observability (health checks, logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerts) for cloud apps
• Support production deployments and ensure readiness through testing and recovery patterns
• Drive standardization and self-service engineering to enable scalable practices
• Lead incident analysis and preventative controls to reduce production issues

Key requirements

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including administration, networking, IAM, secrets, and security
• DevOps and infrastructure automation experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, containers, and Terraform
• Quality engineering and test automation across APIs, UI, integrations, and end-to-end workflows
• Programming or scripting in Python, Power

  Shell, Bash, or Java

  Script; knowledge of APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud architectures
• Observability tooling and practices (monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting) using Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or similar
• Production application support including incident troubleshooting and reliability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities across apps and cloud environments
• Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
