Associate Manager, Financial Accounting and Control
Position Summary
The main responsibilities of this role involve preparing, developing, and analysing financial information so that senior management can make well‑informed decisions. The role focuses on core accounting skills across different business divisions, supporting the entire organisation and reporting to the Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting and Control.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare month‑end accounts close and review processes ensuring accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet, and adherence to all Group reporting deadlines.
- Onboard additional scope and align the process to the target operating model.
- Ensure teams meet tight reporting deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and quality.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and substantiations.
- Support the external audit process for companies within scope, liaising with external auditors to address questions and requests.
- Adhere to internal controls as per group policies and the financial control framework.
- Support group projects and implement new systems and processes.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement activities.
- Partner with Entity Accountants, Financial Controllers, Group Reporting, and Statutory Reporting teams as a key member of the Finance CoE.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Professional accounting degree with a minimum of 4 years of general accounting experience.
- Strong track record in processing core accounting transactions and consolidations.
- Experience in a finance shared‑services environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of financial control processes including account reconciliations and substantiations.
- Experience analysing, producing, and delivering reporting packs/schedules to represent financial performance.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP, Oracle, Oracle Fusion, and Blackline is an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, especially Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Leadership ability to drive a collaborative culture across finance.
- Adaptability to a constantly evolving environment to meet priorities and deadlines.
- Strong process orientation with the ability to build robust reporting frameworks.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to work according to UK work hours.
