Job Description

The McDermott Will & Schulte crypto team is the largest crypto‑exclusive group in the world, requiring 100% of its members to focus on crypto and blockchain clients. This position is for a 2nd‑6th year associate, industry‑exclusive but practice group agnostic. The role involves hands‑on experience across crypto litigation, crypto bankruptcy litigation, products, regulatory advice, state licensing, trust charters, and enforcement defense. McDermott’s crypto department is top ranked by Chambers, the American Lawyer, Law360, and the Legal500.

Job Requirements

• Must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying.
• Must have outstanding academic credentials from a top‑tier school and strong writing skills.
• Strong working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain is required.
• Experience in cryptocurrency‑related litigation, products, regulatory advice, or government investigations is preferred.

Expected Pay Range for Associates: 2025/2024 Class Compensation Years: $225,000; 2023 Class: $235,000; 2022 Class: $260,000; 2021 Class: $310,000; 2020 Class: $365,000; 2019 Class: $390,000; 2018 Class: $420,000; 2017 and more senior class: $435,000.
