Associate Director - Monitoring & Methodology Structured Finance
Scope Ratings is seeking motivated analysts at various experience levels to join the Monitoring & Methodology team within Scope’s Structured Finance Ratings group. The Associate Director role is ideal for experienced structured finance with a strong interest in surveillance and methodologies across all asset classes.
You will be responsible for driving analytical workstreams, leading complex rating reviews, and shaping the methodological framework for Scope’s Structured Finance franchise. Key responsibilities
- Lead annual performance reviews for complex or high-profile structured finance transactions across different assets classes, with the possibility to expand your personal know-how
- Serve as a voting member in rating committees and articulate credit opinions clearly
- Drive the periodic review, update, and enhancement of structured finance methodologies
- Contribute to strategic initiatives related to analytical standards, governance, and process improvement
- Design, implement, and supervise development of analytical tools, automation processes, and monitoring dashboards
- Engage with issuers, arrangers, originators and investors during rating analyses
- Produce high-quality, insightful research and sector-level commentary
- Mentor junior analyst and support technical/analytical training within the team
- Significant experience in structured finance analysis or ratings (5-7 years)
- Solid understanding of securitization structures, cash-flow dynamics, workflows, and contractual and legal frameworks
- Proven expertise in at least one major asset classes (RMBS, CLOs, CMBS, Consumer ABS, NPLs, etc.) is a strong advantage
- Strong ability to articulate independent credit opinions
- Accountable, proactive, and able to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities
- Inquisitive and detail-oriented, with strong commitment to data quality and consistency
- Fluency in English
- Technical skills such as the following are a strong plus: Coding (Python, R), Data analysis (SQL), DataViz (Power BI dashboard development), or Version Control System (Git)
