Associate Director – Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Our client is continuing to expand its presence across France, with a growing portfolio of mission critical and data centre projects. This growth presents an exciting opportunity for experienced Mechanical and Electrical Associate Directors to play a key role in delivering complex engineering projects while helping shape the future of the business.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the technical delivery of major data centre and mission critical projects, providing engineering leadership, technical governance, client management and commercial oversight across multiple concurrent projects.
They are seeking highly respected engineering leaders who remain actively involved in technical design, problem solving, mentoring engineers and supporting project delivery, while developing long-term client relationships and contributing to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across multiple mission critical and data centre projects, undertake design reviews, oversee engineering calculations and technical deliverables, mentor engineering teams, maintain design quality and governance, manage client relationships, support fee proposals and commercial delivery, and ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget and the highest technical standards.
Technical Expertise Required
Extensive experience in mission critical and data centre engineering within either the Mechanical or Electrical discipline, including Tier III and Tier IV facilities, resilient infrastructure design, N+1 and 2N redundancy philosophies, Concurrent Maintainability, multidisciplinary coordination, energy-efficient design, PUE optimisation, and industry standards including ASHRAE, EN 50600 and Uptime Institute requirements.
Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering. Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) preferred. Typically 15–20 years' consultancy experience delivering large-scale data centre and mission critical projects. Strong experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing key client relationships, and overseeing technical and commercial project delivery within an international engineering consultancy environment.
Lead through technical excellence. Mentor and develop engineering teams. Build trusted client relationships. Drive engineering quality and design consistency. Take ownership of complex technical and commercial challenges. Contribute directly to project delivery while supporting the continued growth of the business.
