We are looking for a Senior Assembly Integration Test Technician at our Massy site.
Job Description
As a senior technician, you will be the technical reference operator of the production line: performing physical integration operations on spacevan™ satellites in an ISO 8 cleanroom, ensuring full traceability and applying standards.
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities Will Be
- Perform mechanical and electrical integration operations in cleanroom (structural assembly, equipment installation, harness routing, electrical and RF connections, MLI, SSM, heaters installation, bonding, torquing). Conduct in‑house PCB assembly operations according to defined work packages, and rigorously apply ISO 8 cleanroom rules, ESD procedures, and chemical & fluidic safety procedures.
- Prepare and execute procedures with full rigor: prepare operations from defined procedures and work packages, respect quality hold points, ensure full traceability of operations in as‑built manufacturing records, and systematically report any deviation or non‑conformance to the AIT Engineer.
- Perform quality controls and inspections: carry out compliance checks and visual inspections at each critical step (incoming, hold points, final configuration). Fill in associated check‑lists and records with full rigor. Document NCRs and actively contribute to first‑level investigations.
- Ensure traceability and documentation: maintain full traceability of every operation in ERP (Odoo) and manufacturing records (hardware configuration, software version, datasets, logs). Contribute to field lessons learned reporting to the AIT Engineer and the Industrialisation & Methods team.
- Support campaigns and contribute to team upskilling: support the AIT Engineer during functional test and verification phases (EGSE bench connection, test sequence execution per procedures, TM/TC parameter monitoring). Participate in off‑site campaigns depending on seniority. Ensure cleanliness, compliance and safety of work areas (5S). Contribute to upskilling future junior technicians.
Qualifications
- Education: technical qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics or equivalent field.
- Experience: 7+ years of AIT experience on satellites or space subsystems in cleanroom; direct experience on flight hardware (FM) is mandatory; proven autonomy on physical integration operations.
- Tools proficiency: torque wrench, torque tightening and mechanical alignment tools, MGSE, electrical measurement and dimensional inspection tools; AIT documentation practices (manufacturing records, check‑lists, NCR, as‑built, logbooks) and ERP/Odoo for operation traceability.
- Knowledge: satellite system architecture (structure, thermal, avionics, power, propulsion, communications) and AIT integration processes and procedures; reading complex mechanical and electrical drawings; AIT documentation rules; installation constraints on environmental test means (vibration table, TVAC chamber, anechoic chamber, acoustic test trolley); hardware constraints of MGSE and EGSE; ESD knowledge; applicable standards (ECSS E-ST-10, Q-ST-70, Q-ST-20, NASA NPR); ISO 8 cleanroom procedures; B1V/BE electrical clearance, crane operator clearance (CACES R484) and aerial work platform clearance (CACES R486) appreciated.
- Soft skills: execution rigor and zero‑defect culture on flight hardware; method and attention to detail in documentation; field autonomy with good collaboration skills; ability to pass on best practices to junior technicians.
- Languages: Fluent in French and English (clear technical communication).
