Apprentice - OT and scada engineer

Within the Operation & Maintenance department, you will be primarily focussing on OT and scada expertise for regular support and management in remote or on site. You will closely collaborate with the teams involved in all projects in Europe and especially with the field services team in France. The position is based in Troyes (France) or in Paris la Défense (France).

SCADA Communication Systems Management and Troubleshooting

• Monitoring and maintenance of SCADA systems across our wind and solar farms.
• Configuration and administration of SCADA communication protocols in collaboration with turbine manufacturers and our various service providers (OPC DA, OPC XML, ODBC, IEC , FTP, …).
• Diagnosis and resolution of communication issues.

Network Infrastructure, Administration and Security

• VPN management for secure remote access to our sites.
• Configuration and maintenance of our firewalls (FortiGate).
• Monitoring of network traffic and FortiGates, and detection of anomalies.
• Participate to the NIS2 cyber‑security project for all CGNEE assets, with its definition, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of the system.

Server Administration and Monitoring Tools

• Proxmox hypervisor administration.
• Management of Windows and Linux VMs.
• Log analysis and resolution of incidents and communication losses.
• Configuration of alerts and dashboards.
• Management of monitoring templates.

On‑site Interventions

• Troubleshooting communication losses on our wind and solar farms in France.
• Operational testing of SCADA equipment.
• Collaboration with field teams (turbine manufacturer, Enedis, Orange, Adista …).

Operation Control Center Back‑office

Technical support to the operation controllers and help for remote diagnosis and troubleshooting (SCADA, communication issue).

Additional Responsibilities

• Support the technical support team in the implementation, configuration and optimization of the new database structure (for SCADA data and other types of operational data).
• Draft regular reporting about the achievements of the team in this area of expertise for supporting department leaders in the clear view on the achievements, the objectives and spaces for improvement.
• Python programming for supporting the department in some projects and analysis (monitoring, performance, etc.).
• Participate to another main project of preparation of the transition for a new second‑layer SCADA web‑platform, and especially in relation with tasks aligned with your scope of expertise.
• Technology monitoring, identify and evaluate some cutting‑edge and new solutions which could bring value to our operation activities.

Requirements

• Master’s or professional bachelor’s degree in OT, SCADA, network and communication or a similar discipline with a focus on the energy industry.
• Knowledge of SCADA fundamentals and some practice.
• Experience with SCADA communication protocols, Internet and VPN configuration, network mapping.
• Programming skills in Python or a similar language.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi and Linux environments.
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity is a plus.
