Senior Java Developer (Spring / Microservices)

Join our client’s international Information Systems team, supporting business‑critical risk management solutions in a fast‑moving B2B environment. You will design and deliver reliable, scalable software to support operational and decision‑making processes, contributing to the transition toward more sustainable, low‑carbon operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to refine requirements and align solutions with business goals.
• Design and implement scalable applications following best practices and clean architecture principles.
• Lead the development of critical components, ensuring timely delivery.
• Mentor developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and code quality.
• Maintain high standards through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Keep up to date with Java technologies and propose improvements or innovations when relevant.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong expertise in Java 11/17, Spring Framework (v5+), Spring MVC, REST API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with front‑end frameworks (Vue.js preferred) and responsive HTML/CSS.
• Cloud deployments on Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, communication, and a collaborative leadership mindset.

Additional Requirements

• Relocation to Brussels (Belgium) mandatory for candidates living far from the area, or the ability to commute regularly.
• Language: French or Dutch (B2 or higher) plus English (B2 or higher).
• Eligibility: EU Citizens or Non‑EU Citizens already based in the EU with a valid work permit.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid – 2 days onsite in Brussels, 3 days remote. Start: ASAP, ideally by 02/03/2026. Contract: 1 year, extendable up to 3 years.
