Application Engineer, Japan

L‑Acoustics, the world leader in premium professional sound systems for live and fixed installations, is seeking a Sound Application Engineer based in Japan to provide operational support to our network of clients and end‑users. The role focuses on ensuring project success through premium customer experience and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound system design support to venues, system engineers, audio consultants, and architects using our proprietary software: Soundvision.
• Offer on‑site support to system and mixing engineers during festivals, tours, special events, and musical productions.
• Represent the brand within the fixed installation and touring sector in Japan.
• Maintain and develop relationships with key Japan & Korea consultants and engineers.
• Drive market development through outstanding technical expertise for consultants, integrators, venue owners, and end users.
• Develop and administer sound system theory, practice, and safe‑operation training.
• Create sound system designs, specifications, and documentation for installation and touring applications.
• Perform sound system commissioning, measurement, and verification.
• Execute on‑site acoustical and mechanical verifications/measurements.
• Conduct training sessions and product demonstrations.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations.
• Support product applications, safe operation, and software usage.
• Produce written technical mission reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in the Pro Audio industry.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Japanese installation and touring pro audio market.
• Experience with modeling (EASE) and measurement tools (SMAART) preferred.
• Practical PA system design and operation experience for touring and/or corporate touring markets.
• Strong communication skills in Japanese and proficiency in English.
• Ability to develop professional relationships with consultants, contractors, and engineers to provide appropriate advice and support.

Location & Travel

• Candidate must reside and be authorized to work in Japan or Korea.
• This role is remote but requires the candidate to be live/work in Japan.
• Travel between 50‑75% is expected within the region.
• A portfolio of previous work is required.
