Application Architecture Specialist
- Role: Senior Application Architecture Specialist
- Duration: 12 Months (Renewable)
- Work Arrangement: Onsite/Proximity Hybrid (Strasbourg, France)
- Allocation: every year (Up to 132 Days Onsite / 88 Days Proximity)
- Target Start Date: Immediate / Q2 2026
- Security Requirements: No Security Clearance required upfront (Standard background check & fresh criminal record certificate required prior to starting)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Architecture Specialist to join a project in Strasbourg, France. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and integration of complex, large-scale information systems. You will serve as the crucial technical link between project leadership and development teams, driving high quality standards and modern architectural patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design: Define the architecture and design of enterprise-level information systems. Review, evaluate, and modernize the architecture of existing systems.
- Component Development: Design and develop reusable component architectures and technical building blocks.
- System Integration: Analyze and design the integration patterns for highly distributed information systems.
- Data Modeling: Oversee data analysis and complex data modeling activities.
- Technical Interface: Act as the primary technical bridge between business/project leaders and developers to align requirements with implementation.
- Documentation: Produce robust, high-quality software architecture documents (SADs) and technical guidelines.
- Collaboration: Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings, and alignment sessions with end-users and stakeholders.
- Delivery Support: Assist in testing strategies, technical documentation, system deployment, and post-evaluation reporting.
Candidate Requirements & Experience Gates
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following strict qualification baselines:
Education
- Minimum 4 years of relevant post-secondary education (Master’s degree or equivalent).
Professional Experience
- 6+ Years of overall professional IT experience.
- 2+ Years of dedicated experience in the architecture and design of information systems.
- 2+ Years of hands‑on experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of information systems.
- 2+ Years of experience usingUnified Modelling Language (UML) or standard Computer‑Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
Technical Skills & Competencies
Highly Desirable / Preferable:
- Experience withNeo4j or other Graph Databases is highly preferred.
- TOGAF Certification (Level 1 and 2) or in-depth knowledge of the TOGAF framework and Enterprise Architecture principles is advantageous.
Core Architecture & Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge ofService‑Oriented Architecture (SOA) andService Bus Architecture .
- Strong knowledge of interoperability technologies (e.g., Web Services, Message‑Oriented Middleware, Service‑Oriented Bus).
- Excellent command of relational databases and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
- Strong background working withinLinux, UNIX, or AIX Enterprise environments.
- Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) languages and business process analysis.
Soft Skills & Communications
- Outstanding technical writing and redaction skills.
- Ability to deliver clear technical presentations to both business and development teams.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills, comfortable working in multicultural, multi‑lingual environments.
