The Analyst, Finance Operations, EMENA, supports the Director, Operations Finance, EMENA, in driving financial performance across the company’s manufacturing / operations footprint. The role focuses on data analysis, reporting, KPI tracking, and financial insights to help plant leadership and the operations finance team improve cost efficiency, productivity, and overall operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end close activities for operations-related costs in scope (e.g. labor, maintenance, energy, overheads, indirect spend). Provide commentary on key variances vs. budget, forecast and prior year for the operational P&L lines in scope.
  • Prepare and book all journal entries and accruals related to operations (overtime, temporary labor, utilities, maintenance, indirect expenses, etc.) in line with group accounting policies.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate closing of the books, respecting corporate deadlines and internal control requirements.
  • Prepare monthly management reports for manufacturing plants and operations functions (P&L views, cost trends, KPIs). Support month-end activities: accruals preparation, variance analysis, commentary for operations-related costs.
  • Perform variance and trend analysis (vs. budget, forecast, and prior year) on key cost lines (labor, maintenance, energy, overheads, etc.).
  • Ensure data quality and consistency between ERP, reporting tools, and local reports.
  • Maintain and improve operations KPI dashboards (e.g. cost per unit, labor productivity, scrap/quality costs, overtime, absenteeism, utilization indicators).
  • Provide regular KPI updates to the Director, Operations Finance and operations leadership. Help identify root causes behind performance gaps and quantify their financial impact.
  • Support the annual budget and forecasting cycles for plant operating expenses and key operational KPIs.
  • Consolidate inputs from plants and operations teams into standard templates and ensure alignment with central Finance.
  • Prepare bridge analyses (e.g. budget vs. last year, forecast vs. budget) and highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Director, Operations Finance and Operations Business Partner to provide analysis for reviews with Plant Managers and Finance team. Support cost optimization and efficiency initiatives by modeling scenarios and tracking financial benefits.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses for operations leadership (e.g. impact of production changes, shift pattern changes, headcount, etc.).
  • Act as a key user for operations finance reporting tools and templates.Suggest and implement improvements to reporting processes, templates and automation (e.g. standardizing reports, using BI tools).
  • Support the rollout of new systems, dashboards, or methodologies within the Operations Finance team.
  • Ensure that operations-related reporting is in line with group policies and internal control requirements. Help document processes and controls within Operations Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Math, or similar.
  • 2–5 years of experience in experience in operations or manufacturing finance, FP&A, financial control, and month-end close is a plus.
  • Experience in a multinational or multi-site environment is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of month-end close processes, accruals, and basic management accounting concepts (variance analysis, cost allocation, etc.).
  • Skilled in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling); familiarity with BI tools (Power BI) is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) preferred.
  • Ability to work with large data sets, check for errors, and produce clear outputs.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standard of accuracy, especially during closing periods.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to understand operations and their financial impact.
  • Good communication skills; able to present analysis in a clear, structured way.
  • Team player, comfortable working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Organized, able to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; French or Dutch is an asset.
