Alternant - R&D Validation Engineer (H/F)
You will join our Interiors Component Development Site and Product Family of Valenciennes Petite Forêt, a key actor in the design and development of interior train parts as well as front ends, with more than 180 people & 22 different nationalities, mechanical engineers & designers, buyers, industrial & quality engineers, project managers & product experts, working both for French & International projects.
You will join our Interiors R&D team responsible for developing & validating innovative & eco-friendly solutions, for all Alstom future trains (Tramways, Metros, Commuters, Regional & High Speed trains).
In particular, you will be assigned to Validation & Reliability group. The activities aim at refining technical specifications for all Interior equipments, to ensure robust enough solutions, compatible with a long-lasting usage in trains, while avoiding over-design.
Responsibilities
- Write Validation Plan for several R&D domains (surfaces, materials, mechanical integration)
- Collect REX on the external loads and events causing premature degradation of Interiors equipment
- Complete the requirements definition for moderate surfaces (soft touch, wood veneer) and technologies providing metallic effects

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: In 5th year of Engineering master studies, in material sciences, physics or mechanical design. Previous experience in an R&D department in railway, aeronautics, nautism or automotive is a plus.
Skills
Autonomous, results driven and team-oriented personality with strong relationship skills.
Ability to prioritize and to work effectively under pressure to meet the deadlines.
Strong passion for innovation and questioning the status quo, and perceiving (upcoming) market needs.
Fast prototyper, likes to experiment in order to quickly show/test new concepts & solutions.
Strong written and spoken communication skills.
Ability to work in an international environment; speak and write in English; French is a bonus.
