EMPLOYMENT BEGINS:

PRIMARY PURPOSE
- Responsible for the maintenance of the district's security systems. Make certain systems operate properly by maintaining current systems, managing updates, making repairs, and performing preventative maintenance and inspections on door access control, and burglar alarm systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma
- Convergence Technologies Professional (CTP), preferred
- College Certificate or Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar degree programs preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of standard methods and procedures of emergency and disaster operations
- Knowledge of network cabling and network protocols.
- Highly organized, detailed oriented and able to work within a high pressure environment.
- Possess effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to proficiently use Microsoft Office software/ Google suite
- Experience:
- Have direct experience with the installation and servicing of security systems.
- Have experience with installation of IP based security systems.
- Have experience installing, programming, maintaining door access control and burglar alarm systems.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Maintain door access and burglar alarm systems within the district.
- Perform all programming changes (moves, adds & deletes) on security systems.
- Work with department manager and department director to evaluate and select service providers. Assist with evaluating and selecting service types that best meet the District's needs.
- Perform all steps required to maintain up to date knowledge and proficiency on the District's systems. Includes research, self-study, webinars, classes and other training
- Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule
- Complete bi-annual maintenance inspections on District systems as required by the TEA
- Perform other duties as assigned
