Airbus Transport Operating System Digitalisation Project leader
Job Description
In the Supply Chain & Logistics organization of Airbus Commercial, the OPTIFLOW platform is being deployed to transform global operations. ATOS (Airbus Transport Operating System) is one of the six streams of OPTIFLOW and covers the entire general freight scope for Airbus Commercial Aircraft, with an annual budget of 150 million euros and 1,500 pick‑up points worldwide. The role reports directly to the Vice President of Transport and is responsible for defining and implementing the complete ATOS stream, including governance, digital tool deployment, and transport operating model redesign.
Responsibilities
- Develop an Inbound Control Tower covering all supplier-to-warehouse flows (incl. DAP, FCA, etc.) and plant-to-plant flows, addressing make‑or‑buy strategy, digital suites, and business cases.
- Deploy a full suite of digital tools: real‑time transport visibility platform, Transport Management System (TMS), ticketing solutions, freight invoice audit tools, and optimization engines.
- Improve transport demand data structure to enable accurate performance reporting, root‑cause analysis, and truck load optimization.
- Adapt the current transport operating model (4PL‑3PL) by integrating the new make‑or‑buy strategy, upskilling teams, and updating processes to ensure activity ramp‑up and resilience.
- Redesign the transport network through new solutions and organization, generating efficiency gains and cost savings.
Project Management
- Set up project framework: objectives, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS), and deliverables.
- Define suitable methodology (AGILE, CARE, etc.) for project execution with speed and efficiency focus.
- Steer governance model, focusing on operational delivery while maintaining business continuity.
Project Definition and Deployment
- Define and deploy core elements of the future Airbus transport operating system: IT architecture, processes, “Make or Buy” strategy, resource & skill model, performance management.
- Implement deployment plan across all Airbus entities and supply chains (Europe, US, Asia).
- Implement change management plan.
- Demonstrate success through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

- Non‑Recurring Costs (NRC): 3–5 million euros.
- General Freight Transport scope: worldwide, with annual spending exceeding 150 million euros.
Skills and Qualifications
- Curious, innovative, customer‑oriented, assertive mindset with strong structuring and rationalization skills.
- Proven experience in project/portfolio management.
- Experience with transport operations and deployment of digital transport solutions (TMS, real‑time visibility).
- Fluent in English and French (negotiation level).
- Technical proficiency with G‑Suite, project management tools.
- Excellent communication skills, autonomy, adaptability, and agility.
