AI Simulation Engineer

For one of our clients, a rapidly growing SpaceTech scale-up based in Toulouse, we are looking for an AI Simulation Engineer to help build intelligent simulation environments that accelerate the development of advanced space systems.

Working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, simulation, and aerospace engineering, you'll develop digital twins and AI-powered simulation platforms that enable engineers to model complex missions, optimise autonomous behaviour, and validate critical systems before deployment.

Technical Environment

What You'll Be Working On

• Developing AI-powered simulation environments for next-generation space systems
• Building digital twins that accurately model spacecraft, autonomous platforms, and mission scenarios
• Applying Reinforcement Learning to optimise autonomous decision-making and mission planning
• Developing high-performance simulation software supporting system validation and performance testing
• Collaborating with AI, software, and aerospace engineers to improve simulation fidelity and operational accuracy
• Evaluating algorithms across complex simulated environments before deployment into real-world systems
• Helping define the future simulation platform supporting the company’s long-term SpaceTech roadmap

Experience Required

• 4+ years of commercial experience in Simulation Engineering, AI Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Software, or Machine Learning Engineering
• Strong Python and modern C++ development skills
• Experience developing simulation software or virtual testing environments
• Good understanding of Reinforcement Learning or intelligent decision-making algorithms
• Experience building scalable software for complex engineering systems
• Passion for solving multidisciplinary engineering challenges with real-world impact

Nice to Have

• Experience with Digital Twin technologies
• Physics-based simulation or modelling experience
• Robotics, autonomous systems, or aerospace software development
• NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar simulation environments
• GPU optimisation and high-performance computing experience
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics, guidance, navigation, or control systems
