Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer with a strong background in Generative AI, Large Language Models, and manufacturing environments . The successful candidate will support the design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI solutions that address real-world operational and engineering challenges within a complex manufacturing organisation.A key requirement for this position is prior experience working in manufacturing , enabling the candidate to understand industrial processes, operational data, engineering workflows, and the practical application of AI technologies within production-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions
• Develop applications leveraging Large Language Models, AI agents, and RAG architectures
• Build and optimise vector database and semantic search solutions
• Collaborate with business, engineering, operations, and IT teams to identify high-value AI use cases
• Integrate AI capabilities into manufacturing and operational workflows
• Support deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and governance of AI solutions
• Ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of deployed applications
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on GenAI best practices across the organisation

Required Experience

• Proven experience delivering Generative AI and LLM-based solutions within enterprise environments
• Mandatory previous experience working within the manufacturing industry
• Experience supporting manufacturing organisations within sectors such as:
  • Automotive
  • Aerospace & Defence
  • Electronics
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Heavy Manufacturing
  • Chemicals
  • Process Manufacturing
  • Engineering & Industrial Production
• Strong expertise in LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, and AI orchestration frameworks
• Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Strong Python software engineering skills
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, AWS, or GCP
• Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, model lifecycle management, and AI governance
• Experience integrating AI solutions with manufacturing systems, operational platforms, or engineering processes
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience deploying AI solutions at scale in global manufacturing organisations
• Understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, quality management, engineering documentation, or supply chain processes
• Experience with AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks
• Knowledge of agentic AI and automation frameworks
