ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are seeking a qualified Fiber Splicers with the ability to splice and test all types of fiber optic networks. Applicants should be experienced with CWDM/DWDM and PON components, including testing required, MUX/DEMUX integration, audits and evaluation of splicing matrix. Required Skills
- Basic Knowledge with Aerial and underground installation of fiber cable.
- Full knowledge in the use of Fiber Optic equipment and advanced tools used to perform installation.
- Have basic knowledge of fiber optic theory which includes fiber optic loss, filters, connector types and different types of fiber.
- Maintain Coax/Fiber systems utilizing specialized equipment (Fusion Splicers, OTDR, OSA and Fiber identifiers) to test, diagnose and troubleshoot network related problems.
- Perform ring cuts on existing fiber sheaths.
- Perform fiber prep, tray and splice all type of field enclosures (Tyco, Coyote/PLP and 3M).
- Ability to utilize bucket trucks and ladders when required to access aerial splice enclosures.
- Comply with OSHA and industry (FOA) safety requirements.
- Work in high traffic conditions with the ability to properly setup signs/cones, control and direct traffic.
- Pass DOT health exam.
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Adapt to shifting work hours when required.
- Emergency response when storm damage and network outages that affect customers connectivity.
- Create, interpret, modify all types of splicing matrix's.
- Maintain logs, checklists, and write job reports daily.
- Able to read blueprints, design prints, Splicing Matrix, and project SOW's.
Mandatory Requirements
- Able to perform physical labor (lift in excess 75 pounds) in outdoor weather environments.
- Identify and work in proximity of primary, secondary line voltages and other hazards.
- Perform work in utility bucket trucks and aerial lifts on utility pole lines in a safe manner.
- Properly use and maintain PPE provided and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to work with specialized test equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to potentially travel 25% of the time.
- Transport FOS trailers to job sites via bucket trucks or company vehicles.
- On-call for emergency response and potential weekend work when required to maintain project schedules.
- Maintenance Window (12 am - 6 am) activity for audits, new customer activation's and network plant extensions/ retrofits.
- Perform construction work from time to time to include assisting crews in pole line construction, digging holes to repair FO cables, placing cable/fiber in trenches on occasion or pulling in existing conduit to help complete construction projects.
Salary & Benefits
Medical benefits offered after 90 days. We offer overtime and on call pay when required. Employee can earn vacation and sick pay after 6 months with company. Experienced applicants who meet the above requirements can earn in excess of $30/hour. Telecom applicants that possess some fiber splicing experience (1 year) may apply. Company offers a starting pay of $22/hour should applicant meet minimum requirements. Training provided to candidates who meet minimum requirements.
