Job Overview
The Accounting Methods role supports the governance process of the chart of accounts within the SAP Central Finance environment ((CE)FIN). The initial scope covers the Sapiens, Falcon, and Sigma systems, mainly for companies in the EE Region, with a later extension to other systems and Regions in line with the (CE)FIN project plan.
The mission is to ensure quality, consistency, and governance in the use of GL accounts through the analysis of accounts across the Group's SAP systems and the proper harmonization in Central Finance ((CE)FIN).
The position contributes to compliance with the Golden Rules of the (CE)FIN accounting model, governance of company-level SAP settings, analysis of reposting errors from source systems to (CE)FIN, and monitoring through reporting and KPIs.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Accounting Methods include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor new GL accounts used at company level, perform related content analysis, update the mapping table for reposting to (CE)FIN, share changes with local accounting, and activate accounts and related settings in the system.
- Verify company settings in source systems through specific reports, with particular focus on Tax Codes, Open Items, Reconciliation Accounts, Account currency, Only balance in local currency, and Planning level on the Balance Sheet.
- Coordinate with Central Controlling for centralized management of the Cost Element Category on Profit and Loss accounts, and identify company settings for new GL accounts created in (CE)FIN related to newly implemented processes.
- Analyze errors arising from the replication phase from source systems to (CE)FIN due to differences in GL account parameterization or missing mappings.
- Define remediation plans in coordination with local accounting, World Class Finance, and ICT teams, redirecting anomalies for competence or changes in source systems.
- Develop ad hoc reporting in (CE)FIN to monitor new accounts created, accounts activated at company level, and the trend of reposting errors, including the error backlog.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Excellent knowledge of SAP functionalities and FI accounting model dimensions.
- Data analysis and mapping skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Power BI is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Finance Accounting.
- Advanced level of written and spoken English (C1); French is a plus.
