Accountant Specialist – Modus Create

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to own end‑to‑end accounting for our French entities and ensure accurate, compliant financial operations across multiple reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end accounting for French legal entities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with French GAAP (Plan Comptable Général) and group IFRS/US GAAP requirements
• Prepare and submit statutory financial statements and support external audit processes for French entities
• Partner with the international finance team to ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
• Support VAT filings, tax declarations, and liaise with local tax advisors and authorities as needed
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the external accounting firm supporting France operations, reviewing their work and ensuring quality and compliance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, HR, and operations teams to support business activity in France
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support the transition or implementation of accounting tools and workflows

Requirements

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to French entities and French GAAP
• Fluent French speaker (native or near-native); professional-level English required for communication with international teams and leadership
• Solid experience with general ledger management and month‑end close in a fast‑paced environment
• Hands‑on experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
• Background in international companies or professional services firms (audit, consulting, or outsourced accounting) highly desirable
• Strong understanding of French statutory and tax compliance requirements
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; DCG/DSCG qualification or equivalent is a plus
• Detail‑oriented, autonomous, and comfortable working across time zones with a global team
