Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and autonomous Accountant to support an international company with operations based primarily in France and the Netherlands, but with a focus on the company’s French and Italian subsidiaries. This part‑time role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in non‑traditional structures and can independently manage accounting operations while navigating cross‑border considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure participation in the monthly report process: accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Ensure that records are accurate throughout the year: payments, amounts, and related documentation.
- Help with general ledger analysis.
- Help with the documents to be sent out to head office in Berkeley.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Manage accounting aspects linked to international transactions and foreign stakeholders.
- Assist with the structuring and improvement of accounting processes in a flexible, evolving environment.
- Specific responsibilities for 801 France and 801 Italy.
Profile & Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting (Bac Pro/BTS), Finance, or equivalent.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in accounting, ideally within an international or multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Strong knowledge of French accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Experience dealing with cross‑border financial flows and foreign stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, or equivalent) and Excel.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Language skills: Fluency in English a must. Proficiency with Italian or French a bonus.
- Autonomy: Ability to operate independently.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a non‑standard, evolving organizational structure.
- Analytical mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and solve problems proactively.
- Communication: Clear communication skills, including the ability to interact with international coworkers and vendors (English required; French fluency essential).
- Discretion & integrity: Handling sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Organizational skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a part‑time format.
Working Conditions
Part‑time position (flexible schedule to be determined).
Hybrid or remote work possible (depending on location). 3 days in the office in Pernes.
