Account Manager – Liquid Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry (West part of France)
Behind every safe medicine, every clean glass of water, and every food product cleared for sale, there's a lab somewhere running tests most people never think about. The instruments used to run those tests — separating, identifying, and measuring molecules with incredible precision — are what make modern healthcare, food safety, and environmental protection possible.
Our client is a global leader in analytical science, providing the liquid chromatography & mass spectrometry instruments that laboratories around the world depend on, from pharmaceutical companies developing new medicines to food safety labs and environmental testing facilities. Their customers use this technology to bring effective medicines to market faster, keep food and water supplies safe, and detect disease earlier.
The commercial team is growing to keep pace with an expanding, well-established customer base; this is a territory with a strong existing installation footprint, not a cold-start build. You'll inherit real relationships and real opportunity for growth within them. Focusing on the West part of France, your territory will include Rennes, Angers, Nantes and Tours.
This isn't a transactional sales role. You'll act as a consultant and partner to your accounts, understanding their scientific and operational challenges, and matching them with the right solution, whether that's an off-the-shelf instrument or something more bespoke. You'll build your pipeline, manage forecasts, run on-site workshops, and work hand-in-hand with a marketing team and demo lab chemists to bring new technology to your customers.
The difference versus a typical sales role: you're selling into a scientific audience, which means credibility matters more than charisma alone. If you enjoy translating technical value into business outcomes — and want a role where scientific curiosity is actually an asset — this is built for that.
We're looking for someone naturally curious and proactive, someone who wants to understand not just what a customer needs, but why. Strong relationship-builders thrive here: this role rewards patience, follow-through, and genuine interest in solving a customer's problem rather than just closing a deal. Comfort with a varied week, some days in the lab with customers, some days building pipeline from a laptop, suits this role well.
This Role Is for You If...
- You hold a master's degree (or equivalent) in Analytical Chemistry or closely related field.
- You've worked in a lab, or you've worked in sales, either background is welcome; we'll train the rest.
- You are familiar with liquid chromatography and/or mass spectrometry
- You're a natural problem-solver who enjoys getting into the detail of a customer's workflow.
- You want a career path with real optionality, this role can lead into senior sales, marketing, or more technical/applications-focused positions over time.
In return, our client commit to real training and mentorship, this role is explicitly designed to develop junior talent, not just hire people who already know everything. You'll have access to our demo lab and applications specialists, a genuine support network within a large, established commercial organization, and multiple future career paths depending on what excites you most.
