The Consumer Experience Group at Sanofi is seeking a proactive and insightful Design Research Lead to join our team. This role is instrumental in shaping the user experience by understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through various research methodologies. The ideal candidate will play a key role in informing design and product strategies to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.

By harnessing stakeholder insights and leveraging cutting‑edge technology like AI responsibly, we strive to explore problems deeper and solve sooner than ever before.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct foundational research to understand the broader context of user behaviors, needs and motivations.
  • Collect data using surveys, interviews, usability testing and field observations.
  • Identify and recruit diverse participants for research studies, ensuring a representative sample.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, trends and insights.
  • Synthesize findings from multiple sources into comprehensive reports and presentations to support design decisions.
  • Develop user personas and journey maps to illustrate user experiences and identify key touchpoints and pain points.
  • Create use cases and user scenarios to understand how the product will be used and by whom.
  • Facilitate brainstorming and consensus‑building during ideation sessions and support testing and validation collaboration.
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the research process.
  • Present findings to stakeholders through clear and actionable research reports and presentations.
  • Continuously learn and apply new user research techniques and tools.
  • Deliver compelling visual storytelling to convey research insights.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in creating visual artifacts such as journey maps, personas and user stories using tools like Adobe, FigJam or similar.
  • Technical proficiency with research and design tools (e.g., Dovetail, UserTesting, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting research findings and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills based on research insights.
  • Seasoned experience conducting research that directly informs digital development and iteration cycles.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies including surveys, interviews, usability testing and field observations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams (designers, product managers, engineers).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, etc.); advanced degree preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is €64,000.00 – €85,333.00. Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
