As a Research Lead for digital products and tools within the Consumer Experience Group at Sanofi, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our solutions are user‑centered, innovative, and highly adoptable. Your expertise in foundational and user‑focused research will be essential for developing successful products that truly meet the needs and preferences of our users. By leading comprehensive research initiatives, you will gather valuable insights into user behaviors, motivations, and pain points, guiding the design and development process to create intuitive and effective digital solutions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct foundational research to understand the broader context of user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
  • Utilize methods such as surveys, interviews, usability testing, and field observations to gather qualitative and quantitative user experience data.
  • Identify and recruit appropriate participants for research studies, ensuring a diverse and representative sample.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and insights from research data.
  • Combine findings from multiple sources into comprehensive reports and presentations to support design decisions.
  • Create detailed personas to represent different user types based on research findings.
  • Develop journey maps to illustrate the user experience and identify key touchpoints and pain points.
  • Develop use cases or user scenarios to understand how the product will be used and by whom.
  • Contribute research insights during ideation sessions and facilitate brainstorming and consensus building.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to integrate research findings into product strategies and designs.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders throughout the research process.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, facilitating evidence‑based decision‑making via clear and actionable research reports and presentations.
  • Apply new knowledge and tools to enhance research quality and effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Visual Communication: Create compelling research artifacts such as journey maps, personas, and user stories using tools like Adobe and FigJam.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using various research and design tools such as Dovetail and Usertesting.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting research findings and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Problem‑solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems based on research insights.
  • Experience: Seasoned at conducting research directly informing digital development work and iteration cycles.
  • Research Skills: Proficiency in various research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, usability testing, and field observations.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams, including designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, or similar). Advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like Adobe and FigJam, and ability to develop visually compelling artifacts.
