A220 Stress Analyst Specialist - Metallic Structures (m/f)
Job Description
The Airbus Commercial Aircraft in‑service engineering team in Toulouse, France is seeking a Stress Analyst Specialist – Metallic Structures (F/M) to join the Stress team responsible for analyzing damage reports and approving repair solutions for the A220 fleet in service (all ATA 5x). The role involves working in partnership with the in‑service engineering team in Mirabel, Canada to support customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Interact with a multidisciplinary team in the development of structural repair solutions.
- Perform static strength and durability analyses for specific or generic structural metallic repairs in support of the A220 fleet.
- Support the completion of various A220 aircraft structural manuals such as Aircraft Structural Repair Publication (ASRP) and Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP).
- Prepare or review stress analysis reports covering repairs or allowable damage limits to metallic structures.
- Ensure aircraft safety and airworthiness, reporting all unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate proposed repair solutions with other A220 stakeholders, considering the implications of airworthiness regulations, materials and processes, aerodynamic effects and any other required function.
- Promote and support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives of the Daily Repairs organization through selected projects, providing added value to the aircraft operator.
- Deliver repair instructions in accordance with relevant certification/airworthiness requirements and Airbus processes and methods.
Working Conditions
- Travel required worldwide.
- Shift work: average 34.5 hours per week, 10 consecutive hours + 1 hour break per shift day, with an average of one weekend per month.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years of stress analysis experience in the aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of aircraft metallic structure stress analysis; experience with A220 structures is an asset.
- Experience with Finite Element Modelling (PATRAN NASTRAN is an asset).
- Knowledge of damage tolerance analysis (experience with NASGRO is an asset).
- Ability to read aircraft structure repair drawings (Catia V5 is an asset).
- Good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (experience with Transport Canada is an asset).
- Knowledge of customer operations, product integrity/liability and maintenance operation is an asset.
- Dynamic person with initiative, strong sense of responsibility and customer orientation.
- Organized, able to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively, while working toward tight deadlines.
- Negotiation level in French and English is required.
