ABOUT SKINBIT
SkinBit is building the next generation of full-body dermatological scanners, combining high-resolution multi-camera imaging, controlled illumination, 3D reconstruction, and advanced algorithmic analysis to enable early skin cancer detection at scale. We are building a clinical-grade system where geometric accuracy and reconstruction quality directly impact medical outcomes. The scanner is real, the hardware is evolving, and the 3D stack is a core pillar of the product. We are strengthening our France-based team with a senior 3D engineer who will own 3D reconstruction and geometry projects.THE ROLEYou will work on the 3D foundations of SkinBit's platform: turning a multi-camera capture into an accurate, textured, clinically usable digital twin of a patient's skin.A reconstruction pipeline already exists: point cloud generation, mesh generation, mesh texturing. Your job is to push it further on the axes that matter clinically, and to build the capabilities that aren't there yet.If you are passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and reliable production-grade software that solves real-world clinical challenges, this role is for you. This is a hands‑on, senior execution role, not a theoretical research position.WHAT YOU'LL DOPush the existing pipeline further
- Improve the quality of our reconstruction stages on the metrics that matter clinically: geometric accuracy, surface completeness, texture fidelity, reproducibility
- Attack the failure cases that make full-body human reconstruction hard: hair and body hair, fingers, ears, thin structures, patient motion
Explore new approaches
- Explore Gaussian Splatting and neighboring neural rendering methods, and make a grounded call on where they beat our current stack and where they don't
- Evaluate and integrate new depth sensing hardware, from bench characterization to pipeline integration
Build new capabilities
- Patient pose change: mesh rigging, animation, and pose‑dependent physics, so a scan is comparable across visits regardless of how the patient stood
- Registering additional photos in the wild onto the 3D model, with reliable localization
The roadmap is wider than this, and we expect you to help shape it.Ship to production
- Bridge the gap between R&D and deployment
- Ensure algorithms are optimized, scalable, and robustly integrated into the production environment
YOU SHOULD HAVEBackground
- 6+ years of professional experience in 3D: reconstruction, geometry processing, SfM / multi-view stereo, photogrammetry, SLAM, or neural rendering
- Engineering degree or MSc in Computer Graphics, Image & Shape Analysis, Computer Vision, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
Core technical skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, with solid command of the 3D ecosystem (Open3D, PyTorch3D, COLMAP, trimesh, NVIDIA's 3D & rendering stack, or equivalents)
- Strong foundations in multi-view geometry, camera calibration, registration, and mesh processing
- Proven track record shipping 3D algorithms into production environments
- Comfortable profiling and optimizing heavy geometric workloads
Strongly valued
- Gaussian Splatting, NeRF, or differentiable rendering experience
- Rigging, skinning, animation, or physically based simulation of deformable bodies
- Human body reconstruction, or parametric body models
- Medical or clinical imaging experience
- Work on regulated or safety-critical systems
Mindset
- Highly proactive, collaborative, and structured
- You are as comfortable reading a SIGGRAPH paper as you are hunting a calibration bug on the bench
- You enjoy working in person with a tight-knit team to solve hard problems fast
WHY JOIN SKINBIT
- High-impact work: your reconstructions are the substrate for every downstream clinical analysis
- Hard technical problems at the core of clinical performance, on a real machine
- Senior, interdisciplinary team spanning vision, hardware, and medicine
- Mission-driven: early cancer detection saves lives
- Deep-tech startup environment: demanding, pragmatic, and execution-focused
LOGISTICSLocation: Paris, France (full-time, on-site)Employment type: Permanent, full-time (CDI)Level: Senior (6+ years)Compensation: Competitive salary + equity (depending on profile)
The SkinBit imaging system documents the surface of your skin and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Skin cancer screening and diagnosis are performed by a licensed dermatologist. Clinical services are provided by SkinBit California PC and SkinBit Florida PLLC, independent physician-owned practices. SkinBit, Inc. provides the imaging technology and does not practice medicine.
