Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Temporary 2nd Officer for a 60m+ yacht

Requirements

• OOW CoC essential
• All certificates in hand and in date for the duration of the employment
• At least 1 years’ experience as OOW with proven reliability on the bridge providing good references
• SWärtsilä SAM Electronics ECDISPILOT Platinum type-specific certificate a plus, however vessel will accommodate this training
• Motivated and eager to develop navigation and leadership skills
• Team-oriented and comfortable working in a structured crew environment
• Schengen & B1/B2 visa required

Start date: 19 September (South of France)

End date: Approximately 1 November (Bahamas)

Location: Europe

Salary: DOE

Leave: 38 days

Itinerary: 60m+ Commercially registered motor yacht is looking for a hands‑on temporary second officer (OOW) to assist with a short post‑season maintenance stop followed by a crossing from the SOF to the Bahamas. This is to cover the current second officer while on leave. This is not purely a bridge‑based role as you will be required to assist managing deck works while in the yard. (approx. 3 weeks). No major deck projects planned however a vessel re‑set and prep for the Caribbean season will be expected.
