Responsibilities
SPAD is responsible for design engineering in the following areas:
- Power System Design
- Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators
- Power Conversion
- AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls
- Power Distribution
- Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems
- Power Sub‑System Design
- Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress Analyses
- Control Systems
- Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms
What You Will Do
- Work closely with a team of engineers to develop designs based on requirements, operational specifications, and RTX guidelines
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion, analog circuitry or servo/motor control systems
- Provide support to production, integration, and test activities
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams
- Execute program schedules on time and within budget
- Demonstrate self‑motivation
- Travel to Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment
Qualifications You Must Have
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
- Coursework in Analog Electronics, Power Electronics/Systems, or Control Systems.
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools.
Qualifications We Prefer
- ABET accreditation (not required).
- 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
- Hardware development experience.
- Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components.
- Existing U.S. DoD security clearance.
