Offer Description

The department of Law seeks to appoint from October 2026, a new faculty member in the position of a non permanent lecturer of civil law, business law, and criminal law.The person recruited will be expected to publish regularly in peer-reviewed legal journals and to actively promote and disseminate their research. Their research areas must be civil law, business law, and criminal lawWe offer a dynamic, international, and team-oriented working environment in intensive dialogue with academic colleagues and business partners. Applicants should have pedagogical aptitude and experience in teaching (in French) and supervising students at bachelor’s level and master’s level, as well as contributing to further teaching and administrative responsibilities of the department. It will be asked to promote the Department and its teaching and research environment.

The appointed candidate will be part of the Centre Jean BODIN, the research group in Law at the University of Angers. He/she should develop and maintain a research-agenda in the fields of civil law, trade law, and criminal law.

SOFT SKILLS:

The person recruited must have serious teaching experience (have already taught courses or TDs). These person's skills will be called upon to give priority to initial training, without excluding continuing training. In view of the curricula for certain degrees, they will be called upon to supervise individual students (mentor teacher, dissertation, work placement, project)

Specific Requirements

Applicants must have a Doctoral degree, Ph.D., or equiv. in law, or a closely related area, by the time of appointment.

A greater attention will be on applicants with research expertise and interest in civil law, business law and criminal law. Additional expertise in quantitative applications in the fields mentioned above is welcome.

Monthly wage (gross) : 2308,78€

Selection process

Submission of applications: Applicants must submit their application by providing the documents requested in the vacancy notice published on the university’s website, from 16 July to 17 August 2026.

Eligibility check

Once the application period has closed, the Teaching Staff Unit of the Human Resources Department will assess the eligibility of applications. An email will be sent to applicants whose applications are deemed ineligible between 18 August and 26 August 2026.

Review of eligible applications

Eligible applications will be assessed by the selection committees from 31 August to 11 September 2026. Each committee may, if it so wishes, organise interviews with shortlisted candidates during this period.

Notification of results

Candidates will be informed by email, sent by the teaching department, of the decisions taken by the selection committee by 15 September 2026 at the latest.
