Since its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development & data science.

In 2026, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 350 full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.

Role Overview

A Solution Engineer, also known as a Pre-sales Engineer, isworking closely with sales teams to help demonstrate and explain the technicalaspects of a product or service to potential customers. The primary goal is tounderstand the customer’s needs, challenges, and requirements and then proposea tailored solution that effectively addresses those needs in collaborationwith development engineering teams.

The SE is self-motivated and passionate aboutensuring quality and customer happiness.This is not a sales position, but a role for a technical person willing to be confronted with the business environment.

Duties

  • Workingas part of the Solutions Engineering team in a Sales / Solutions Engineerrole
  • Participatingin Sales calls along account executives to inform customers of thetechnical capabilities and aspects of Aerospacelab’s products
  • Performingfeasibility assessments for potential customer missions, includingrequirements feasibility, architecture definition, and budgetsconsolidation( mass, power, link, DeltaV, AOCS, etc).
  • Developmentof technical, programmatic and financial proposals in support of sales
  • Developingand conducting presentations in support of Sales efforts
  • Workingalongside and with product and engineering teams to develop futureofferings for customers
  • Sometravel (~5-10%) to various customers, subsidiaries and key events andconferences

Must have

  • Self-starter,great communicator, and strong technical skills – able to workindependently with low oversight and juggle multiple projects
  • Excellentcommunication, writing, and cross-team collaboration skills
  • Cleardocumentation skills and ability to respond to written requests in aconcise and effective manner
  • Backgroundof working with space project and products ( EO, systems, units, telecom,etc.)
  • Abilityto detect all risks of a solution, proposing mitigations and ensuring thereporting through the bid/no bid process
  • Abilityto translate technical customer requirements into prioritizations for theproduct and engineering teams
  • Bachelor’sdegree or higher or an equivalent combination of technical education andwork experience
  • Opento work some late evening for collaboration with our US subsidiary
  • Business English required

Nice to Have

  • Experiencein early phase definition
  • Someexperience collaborating with engineering teams and customers teams tosupport adoption of complex product features and capabilities
  • Someunderstanding of satellite systems EO and telecom payloads and/oroperations
  • Someexperience in technical proposal development or project management
  • Someexperience in Space System Engineering
  • 5+years’ experience working in the geospatial community
