R&D Engineer
Simulation models are becoming larger and more complex which makes their creation difficult and time consuming. Automation is crucial to allow for simulation of more designs and load-cases. We are seeking an R&D engineer with a solid background in AI/ML and either discrete geometry processing, computer graphics, mathematics, or some related field.
The focus of this role is on model understanding which includes shape classification, feature identification, combined with functional and semantic understanding to allow for machine reasoning (e.g., identify fluid and solid domains, verify that the model (scene) is complete, suggest model simplification based on analysis intent (coarsen mesh in some area), etc). We expect that VLMs with embedded 3D geometry data will play a crucial part and prior experience will be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be part of a team which is responsible for research, design, and implementation of AI/ML technologies for 3D geometry processing, and will be engaged in all stages of code and capability planning, research, creation and evolution, and to work closely with other members of the meshing software development team.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- BS in engineering, Computer Graphics, Computational Geometry or Mathematics, with 2 years’ experience, or MS
- Expertise in AI/ML for 3D geometry processing
- Working knowledge of software development
- Knowledge with Python and C/ C++
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Solid understanding of geometry processing
- PhD in Computer Graphics, Computational Geometry, Mathematics or related field.
- Strong analytical skills
